Sitar Music Class
It is made from a gourd, which acts as a resonating chamber, onto which a large neck is attached. The neck is hollow, allowing the whole instrument to vibrate, and fitted with around 20 brass frets, which can be shifted to suit the microtonal demands of the raga in question. Most sitars have around 23 strings.
